I just bought a 2006 Escape with 11k miles. We just use it around town,
about 6k miles per year. Is the extended warranty worth it at around $2445
for a 7 year 100 mile warranty. We do plan keeping the car for many years.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

When I purchased my 2002 Ranger last year, I bought the extended
warranty for it. The best part of it was that there is a refund option
to it. If we don't use it, I will get the full purchase price minus a
small fee. I'm looking at getting almost $2,000 back if I don't use the
warranty. In my case, yes, it is worth it. You may want to see if they
are offering the refund on your's.

That price seems high. Check the cost from www.warrantydirect.com and
compare. I had them and never had any problems getting stuff taken
care of. It cost me $1200 for a 99 mustang GT.

Ask your auto insurance company. My father in law bought one of these a few
years ago. We found that his auto insurance company offered a "breakdown
warrenty" policy for over a thousand less. He cancelled the policy from the
dealer within the grace period, and went with his auto insurance company.
