Puzzling Escape Chiming When Slowing

I just finished my first road trip with a new Escape. Twice, when I slowed
down from freeway speeds, where I was using cruise control, to stop at an
exit, the car started to chime a warning that finally ended when I stopped.
There were no warning lights that I could see. I can't find anything in the
manual.

Any thoughts as to what this is?

Hmm...is it possible that your door was ajar? Possibly a bad switch...
